1-27-11 - SNOW DAY

In case you missed it...

Today was a repeat show because of the 19 inches of snow that dumped on NYC yesterday.

We got 10 inches here in D.C. and the entire place shut down.

  5. Live in NoVA like Kelly. Total nightmare of commutes-6-8 hours. People leaving at 4pm, getting home at 1am. Normal 10 minute commute turned into 4 hours for some. Roadways turned into parking lots. Abandoned cars and trucks. Unbelievable!

  6. Liz - your comment made me laugh out loud! same here in jersey. thoughts of driving to the shore are going through my mind just to smell the ocean air. if I lived a tad closer and wasn't so tired from shoveling I would do it. oh well... I'll just have to imagine.
kel - love the picture of the boys! kiss Thomas for me. :)

  7. I'm in Cally so in the 70's. Yes I'm bragging since I have so little to brag about right now.

I have lived in the midwest so I am familiar with the phrase "getting the car out".

  9. First of all, thanks for your wonderful recaps of her show. I look forward to them everyday. Sorry, but I'm in LA and we don't have to shovel sunshine. that being said, I grew up in Chicago and totally don't miss the digging out, except when we had snow days.

  13. I grew up on South Dakota so not only did we have snow and blizzard conditions constantly, we also had -30 degrees (without the wind chill) for months!

Now I live in Fort Lauderdale where we have had a chilly winter so far - but today was great! Sunny, no wind and 70. Sorry to all in the bad weather but I did my time.

Kelly - cute picture of the kids - thanks for sharing!

  15. Kelly,
Could you let us know when Rosie updates her blog? I read your recap first and they go to Rosie's page and invariably it is the same as the day before. If you give us a "heads up" it will save a lot of time.
    Thanks.

  16. I wish we could have some of your snow here in Dallas Tx! Like Christine said, it's supposed to be 71 tomorrow. I prefer colder weather with some snow thrown in at least once in awhile.

Thanks again for the posts and your kids are absolutely adorable!

  18. I'm laughing at the comment above about you letting us know when Rosie updates her blog! Is that request for real? Last time I entered 'www.rosie.com', it took just a few seconds. Just saying!

  22. I live in Flemington, NJ and we got about 17 inches. The roads did clear up quick though.

  23. Just another gray January day in Indianapolis here. 26 degrees with about 3-5 inches of snow on the ground. Got a dusting last night. I thought you were in the NY region. We were in DC for the Rally to Restore Sanity and I would have looked you up if I had known. Cute boys.

Honestly, I'm done with winter. I wanna go out west and live there again. You don't have to shovel sunshine or the heat in Phoenix.
Thanks for the blog. Will miss you come June, for sure.

  24. The one part of California that's not currently gorgeous is the Sacramento Valley. We're living in a cloud of fog and have been for several days. I guess the good news is it isn't freezing and snowing.

  28. In Victoria BC Canada - fogged in - damp and cool. Glad I am here and feeling sorry for all the people with the tons of snow. Grew up with tons of snow - that is why I migrated here.

Glad Parker did not miss his ski trip - those kinds of things can make u bitter - am still angry with my mother for not taking me to NYC in 1965 - it was so important to me but she did not care.
